This page covers only how we use cookies. For information about how we collect, store, and process your personal data — including your full privacy rights, data retention, and advertising practices — please see the Data Privacy policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device — computer, tablet, or smartphone — when you visit a website. They help the site remember information about your visit, such as your preferred settings or whether you are logged in, so it works better for you on return visits.
We use three categories of cookies on this site:
| Category | Purpose | Consent |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Required for site to function. | No consent needed |
| Analytics | Understand how visitors use the site. | Requires your consent |
| Advertising | Show relevant ads and measure campaigns. | Requires your consent |
2. The cookies we use
Essential — always active, no consent required
| Name | Provider | Expires | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| PHPSESSID | The PHP Group | Session | Maintains your session across pages — keeping you logged in while you navigate. Deleted when you close your browser. |
Analytics — only placed with your consent
| Service | What it collects |
|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Page views, session duration, traffic sources, and aggregated user behavior. Data is pseudonymized. |
| Engagement with LinkedIn-sourced traffic and ad conversions. Used only if you arrive via LinkedIn. | |
| Hotjar | Heatmaps and anonymized session recordings to improve page layout and usability. |
Advertising — only placed with your consent
| Service | What it collects |
|---|---|
| Google Ads | Conversion tracking and remarketing to visitors who have previously interacted with our site. |
| YouTube | Tracks video engagement if you interact with embedded YouTube content on our pages. |
| Pixel-based conversion tracking and audience building for Facebook ad campaigns. | |
| Salesforce | Marketing automation tracking to measure campaign performance and personalize follow-up communications. |
Advertising cookies are used on our marketing website only. They are never placed on the test-taking platform used by candidates and administrators, and no ads are directed at students or children.
3. Managing your cookie choices
You are always in control of non-essential cookies. Here is how to manage your preferences:
- On your first visit, our cookie banner gives you the option to accept or decline analytics and advertising cookies.
- Change your mind anytime by clicking the Privacy button in the bottom-left corner of any page. Your previous choices will be shown and can be updated.
- Browser settings — you can also block or delete cookies in Chrome, Firefox, Safari (iOS), Opera, and Edge. Note: disabling essential cookies will affect site functionality.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC) — if your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, as required by applicable U.S. law.
