13 Tosa Certifications Added to the Texas IBC List: Students Gain a Competitive Edge

0:00 / 0:00

Texas high school students now have an incredible opportunity to level up their digital skills and earn credentials that truly matter for college and career success. Thirteen Tosa certifications have officially been approved for the Texas 2025–2030 Industry-Based Certifications (IBC) list.

This milestone represents Isograd’s years of collaboration with Texas educators, administrators, and industry partners who share one belief: skills matter as much as knowledge.

Expanding Opportunities for Career and Technical Education in Texas

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has made strengthening Career and Technical Education a key priority under its College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) framework, ensuring that students follow coherent programs of study that include rigorous technical knowledge and relevant industry credentials. Central to this effort are Industry-Based Certifications (IBCs)—credentials vetted and approved by TEA as valid indicators of post-high school readiness for the workforce, military, or further education.

The recently released 2025-2030 Texas IBC list includes a significant number of new credentials, particularly in the digital skills area, reflecting both increased opportunity and updated quality criteria. For Texas students, earning an IBC from this list counts toward their school’s accountability metrics and, more importantly, signals to employers and post-secondary institutions that the student has attained a recognized, industry-aligned credential.

The 2025-2030 IBC list opens access to a broader array of meaningful certifications aligned with high-skill, high-wage, and in-demand careers. It also embeds those credentials within the state’s accountability and reimbursement frameworks, helping to ensure that students’ efforts translate into tangible acknowledgment of readiness.

What This Means for Texas High Schools

Thirteen Tosa certifications are now available as a proficiency-based option for digital and technical skills validation across the state.

Unlike traditional assessments that focus on memorization, Tosa measures what learners can do, not just what they know. Through performance-based testing and adaptive assessments, Tosa helps students demonstrate authentic digital proficiency in today’s most in-demand applications.

Tosa certifications are internationally recognized, administered in more than 30 countries, and have a growing footprint in over 20 U.S. states, giving earners a highly portable credential and a competitive edge in today’s job market.

How Tosa Helps Students Succeed

By earning Tosa certifications, Texas high school students can:

  • Prove real-world digital skills in tools like Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Workspace, cybersecurity, web development, and coding
  • Build college and career confidence through measurable, stackable credentials
  • Strengthen their CTE pathways with industry-recognized certifications that align with workforce needs

Why This Matters Now

As 92% of U.S. jobs require digital proficiency, it’s more important than ever that students graduate with both the knowledge and the skills employers demand.

Tosa certifications bridge that gap, giving students, schools, and districts a reliable way to measure and showcase workforce readiness.

Texas school districts can now give high school students a measurable advantage—whether they’re pursuing higher education or entering the workforce right after graduation.

“By validating digital and technical skills through Tosa, we’re helping prepare students across Texas for the real-world challenges and opportunities of tomorrow’s workforce.”

– Mathieu Lillo, CEO, Isograd North America
